The photo that works

Works well

  • Face to the camera. Rap clips stay close to the face, so use a sharp, front-facing photo with the mouth visible.
  • One person per photo. Duo templates take one photo for each rapper, so the two never blend.
  • Head to knee for booths. Booth and street templates show more of you; some take the outfit from your photo.

Often fails

  • Sunglasses and masks. A covered face or mouth loses your likeness when you rap.
  • Group photos. Use one person per photo, and a second photo for the friend.
  • Blur or a dark room. Low light and motion blur lose the face the close-ups need.
  • Side-on faces. A profile photo has to be guessed from the front.
