Questions
What is the TikTok safe zone?
On a 1080×1920 video, TikTok's own safe zone file keeps text and faces out of the top 240 px (the Following and For You tabs), the bottom 660 px (username, caption and sound), 120 px on each side, and from 840 px down everything within 300 px of the right edge (the 120 px margin plus a 180 px button strip), where the like, comment and share buttons sit.
What size should a TikTok video be?
1080×1920 pixels, a 9:16 vertical frame. Smaller 9:16 videos are scaled up and can look soft; 16:9 landscape videos are shown with black bars above and below; square and 4:5 videos get bars or a crop. The checker warns about each of these.
What is the Instagram Reels safe zone?
Meta asks for about 14% at the top, 35% at the bottom and 6% on each side to stay free of text, logos and key elements: 269, 672 and 65 px on a 1080×1920 Reel. Its Stories guide gives the same percentages.
What is the YouTube Shorts safe zone?
Google's vertical video safe zone for YouTube is 288 px from the top, 672 px from the bottom, 48 px from the left and 192 px from the right of a 1080×1920 frame; the wider right margin is for the like, comment and share buttons.
Why do safe zone numbers differ between tools?
The apps change their layouts, captions grow with every line, and ads add buttons that organic posts do not have. We take each value from the platform's own file or ad guide, say which one, and list the date we last checked it (2026-10-30). Leave a little extra room if your caption runs long.
